Hey there! We were given a godawful project to complete within one day, which made me feel godawful about my illustrating skills. I churned out a pile of poo to be quite honest, and am very ashamed of it. Nothing like clicking the default button eh? It isn't good enough! I need to get my act together. I've just been so tired recently, with the changes in my routine, noticeably the 3 new exercise classes I'm going to. 45mins-1 hour each, and I'm SLOWLY getting used to them. But in the meanwhile, my work piles up on top of me. I haven't completed a spread for my book in just over a week. When I say that, it doesn't sound so bad, but it feels like several milennia. ANYWAY... enough moping.
I'll be exhibiting my work on Monday at '5 Degrees Below' in Falmouth. 8.30pm, with live music, poetry readings and other delicious treats! This is part of Neutral Norway, showcasing local talent! Come along and support our local artists/musicians/writers! I won't say what I'm exhibiting, so you'll just have to come along and see! I may show you what I exhibited after the event... only if you're ever so nice.
And on that note, it is goodbye from me for a while! Must get my head down and do some proper works!

Recently, inspired by Miss Danny D Slice Vowel, I made an origami hummingbird and a flower!
Very happy with my new shelf ornaments, just flying about collecting nectar in the breeze of incense.
I did another painting, this time of Gandhi for my map project. His hands went wrong, his pose is very stiff etc etc, but thats because I was trying to show him with his palms up and facing the viewer, but not being too much like 'here's my hand'. So, by the magical powers of photoshop, I have managed to shift it all round, and that now leaves me the original painting to do whatever I please with :) Like get rid of that terrible pose! My lord!
This one is the one I will use to put the map on top of. I quite like how it has come out in the end, even if the hand does look weird and far too big for his face. You can guess that his hand is closer to you... right? Well lets say you can, and have done with it, because its only a silly map project anyway. I like his face despite the rest of it.
Ok! On to my illustrated book- I started painting my first colour spread today, so that was nervewracking, but kinda fun I guess. Only 6 more spreads to complete, including the colour one I'm halfway through, so 5 1/2 to go, 2 1/2 of them are colour, the other 3 are lineworks! Exciting stuff!
I think I will only show you the whole book once it is finished now, else it will spoil any surprise there might be!
I went to 'Body Attack' yesterday, and let me tell you, it very much felt that my body was being attacked. And one day later, yep I have the aches and pains that would match up with a fight. So, more on Friday and Saturday? Yes Please! Gah I'm a glutton for punishment. Hopefully this will train me up in preparation for Ecuador in the summer!
And on a light note, because I can't remember if you've seen these... My creation... The Snow DINO.
The Three Creators of Wonder- (left to right) Giles, Natalie & Me!
me and the bride hitting the vicar (snow dino)
My little snow dog.
With conveniently titled bottle cap!
Thats all for now :)

Firstly we have some sketches from the Natural History Museum in London
And one from the British Museum
Now some sketchbook pages from the new sketchbook
Some age old artwork from when I was...oh, maybe 5?
I loved dinos back then too! And I wanted them all as pets- note all the dinos in this picture have collars. I was very inventive! Some of the dinos had trees growing out of their backs. Now hows that for an efficient herbivore? I also drew one of the dinos out of jurassic park- the one that spat tar or whatever in Nedry's face.
Some painting on rice paper from a class...sometime ago.
This is an old toaster! Believe it or not, my gran used to use it. You would put toast in for a minute, then open the flaps again, turn it over, and toast for another minute! There were bare elements in that damn thing! She always used to burn her fingers. Still, its a fascinating bit of equipment!
And lastly, an old stamp album- more coming soon.
Oh and life drawing from the week before!
2 min poses
blind contour 10 mins
left handed 10mins
left handed 20mins
My new look! Thats all for today folks!
Assessment day tomorrow, lets see how much I get my wrists slapped.
