Drawgasmic, House & Project

I finally got my piece for drawgasmic finished! Thank god! And here it is... a bit of a revamp of my beetle series, but I think they really did need an added element... something that says a tiny bit more about me than creepy double animals. Bit more life added!

So there we go!

All packed up and ready to be sent now :) Lets hope it gets there on time!

I found someone to rent my house for summer, so that is a massive weight off my mind! I'll only have to pay around £118 for the entire summer instead of £1233. So glad that I found someone.

Project is trundling along slowly, I've managed to get some work done, and I have 2 more roughs to do, and a painting. Very do-able I think. I can get the roughs done by the weekend and hopefully start the painting at the weekend, if not finish it. Things seem more achievable now, and after an emotional breakdown yesterday, and a good long chat with Rachel, things seem a lot brighter.
I guess it was also good to talk to Max and express my concern about some issues and whether he would be ok with them. It puts my mind at ease, and I hope my self confidence is on the up and up.

Off to do some clothes shopping for some strappy tops to go under other things :) layers is the name of the game! And so are leggings. Various colours and patterns!

I love my mother, she knows how to ease the stress immensely. She rang me up yesterday and said 'i've put some money in your account, don't worry about paying me back'. I really appreciate it, as I was eating into my savings.

Not long to go now! 7 weeks and I'll be flying away. 3 of those weeks, spent in hospital, and the rest working and planning/preparing for the trip. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait. I'm going to brush up on my spanish when im in hospital, and go around london painting :)

I should really be working right now! I'm in class. Never mind eh?
Catch you guys later!

Life Drawing, Leaving Early & Blah

Geoffrey (who isn't allowed back due to unmentionable reasons!)

and Miriam

So im leaving early from uni to go to hospital for 21 days. I don't want to go, and I just want to concentrate on getting fit and healthy and losing some I was. But no, I've gained weight again, and there's no sign of my foot getting better in the next week or 2. Great.
I'm pretty fed up with everything at the moment, I just want to go to my exercise classes. For once in my life I was actually feeling good about myself and fitness.

The pattern in my day now seems to be... go and socialize during the day at university, not do any work... then go home, shower, eat and not do any work. Instead, just spend the evening moping and complaining. Im annoying myself, and Im sure I'm annoying others.

Anyway. Onwards and meandering somewhere.

Summer, Book & Hospital

I've finally got the book back, and have photographed it for you! I also received my marks for it, and I got 83%, a first! Woo!

So there we go! 'To Make an Amblongous Pie' completed.
The portraits of Max and me, in my studio space. :D
Not long now, I just have to stop worrying and thinking the worst.

Summer is here! I've had a lovely day at the beach just relaxing and paddling in the freezing water, and feeling sticky from suncream.

Hospital was ok, they took a biopsy (basically hole-punched my arm) and will get back to me with an appointment for treatment sometime. I'm going to be spending 21 days up at hospital in London. Grrreat. I'm not looking forward to this at all, but I won't have any uni work to think about hopefully. Fingers crossed the hotel they put me up in has free wi-fi! Else I'm going to be VERY bored.

Up next... life drawing from the past 2 sessions.

Bristol Comic & Small Press Expo, No Motivation & Bad Paper

My friend Isaac Lenkiewicz (an old college buddy) has offered to take some of my work up to the Bristol Comic & Small Press Expo! That was really lovely of him, and this will be the first time that my work has been shown at an expo! :D I'm really quite excited. I wish I could go up to the expo as well, but I'll most likely be in-between London and Falmouth. So if any of you are heading up there, be sure to look out for his work! (and mine too!) I'll be giving him a couple of prints to take up, and an original drawing, so go grab a bargain!

I'll hopefully manage to buy a copy of his comic :)

At the moment I still have no motivation for this project, and I have managed to spend the whole of today not doing much at all. I really wish I could just get the motivation and go with it! But at the moment there's just nothing pushing me to do it.
I want to get back from the hospital before I get into painting, but that's just not possible.
I can't believe how little time there is left! And how little time there is before I fly away again!

Thankfully I may have someone to rent my house for summer, so that eases a ton of stress.

Bad paper...trying to draw this picture for drawgasmic is not going so great on the paper I've chosen... I think I may have to rethink and go back to using my 0.3 mechanical pencil again too. Gotta wait til Friday to get some more lead for it though. *sigh*
I just have to get down to this project... get going! get myself motivated! Get some more canvas so as I can actually paint something!

ok, off to WORK
ciao x

Printing, Pressing & Interim crits

Here's some work from my visual studies printing sessions... I'm happy with some of them, some not so much. Anything to get me out of Linda's class.

Some interesting results.

Interim crits tomorrow... hooray I'm going to get shot down by my tutors :D

Ex Votos, Retablos & Whatever Else They're Called

New painting guys! Albeit a very quick one, its the other half to the portrait of Max. I still need to add to each of the paintings, some writing and a connection in the images. But, we're getting there! And I'm glad to have painted something this weekend.

I apologize for the bad scan of the painting. I normally photograph them, but I've left my little camera's charger at home, and won't be able to retrieve it until next weekend.
So whats it all about? Why is my face a skull? And a bear's skull at that?
Well two reasons really... I hate painting myself as myself and have chosen the bear as an animal representative of me. Skull? Cuz I like em. And it has to match up with Max's portrait. Took me maybe 3 hours...and it really shouldn't have taken me that long, but I have trouble mixing flesh/bone tones in gouache.

Other news! I've started on my piece for drawgasmic... thats due in at the end of the month!
Take a look at the drawgasmic website, and go put your work in for the show! You know you want to.
so whats that all about, huh? Its a big exhibition in Saint Louis, MO. In the USA. It will be on for one night only! Where hopefully a lot of the work will be sold. Fingers crossed mine sells! Its all about affordable art too, so the prices shouldn't be that bad. As well as an exhibition of all the crazy cool up and coming artists out there, there will be a coffee table book produced with all the artists and their one piece of exhibit work held within its lovely pages. On the night of the exhibition there's going to be tons of entertainment, hopefully some of the artists (i'm not able to make it sadly), and drink and performances.

So thats whats going on at the moment folks!
I've finished my History and Contextual essay. But I still have a ton of work to do for tomorrow, and for Visual Studies this week! AGH!

Exercising is still going well, with the great achievement of me doing 3 classes in one morning... and surviving to tell the tale. However it has done nothing for my size, so I'm hoping im just building up some muscle ready to lose some weight soon. I guess it doesn't help that I end up weighing myself, seeing no change and then going and eating chocolate because I'm a bit angry. Hah! Ah well, at least I'm getting fitter, if nothing else.

Off to hospital this coming weekend... scary times. I don't like doctors, and they're going to want to take a bit of my arm, put it under a slide and see what I have. BLEGH.
London Tropical Disease Clinic here I come!

Right, should really pop back to doing some work!
Cheers guys!

Te amo,Ñuka camba llakini, I love you

I really can't wait anymore... I have worked hard to get to you my love,
and you have worked hard to reach this stage in your life. I wish you all the best for your exams... you are going to become what you always wished for.
I hope to share a lifetime with you
that will be the biggest honor I could ever receive.

I believe we can make it through anything
if only we believe in ourselves, eachother and our love for one another.

I see you
